ASUS VivoBook X540UP: Solid- Performing Laptop- It is a low-cost option available for those who prefer the capabilities of a full-sized laptop and want to avoid the issues that come with getting a budget laptop, especially in the performance department this seems like a solid choice at first glance.

BODY AND BUILD

Most of the materials used in this laptop are made of plastic. It measures 381.4x251.5x27.2 mm and weighs 2 kg with battery. It is more comfortable to type with the X Series' full-size one-piece chiclet keyboard. This also comes in a reversible USB Type-C port that makes connecting devices much easier. It has a super-fast USB 3.1 Gen 1 speeds of up to 5 Gbit/s so transferring a 2GB movie to a USB drive can be done in seconds. It carries the traditional USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 ports to ensure compatibility with all your USB devices. You have the option of using an HDMI or VGA output for external displays. It also has the 3-in-1 SD/SDHC/SDXC for its card reader. It uses an RJ-45 Ethernet port and a DVD Super Multi optical disc drive for its connectivity. The ASUS VivoBook X540UP only comes in black color.

DISPLAY

The screen display is at 15.6" LED-backlit FHD 60Hz Glare Panel with 45% NTSC. The graphics processing, is powered by an NVIDIA graphics card that shows on the screen with a 1366x768 pixels display. It gives the best images because of the ASUS Splendid Technology, it has color temperature correction to reproduce richer, deeper colors. It has a Vivid Mode optimizes contrast for browsing photos or watching videos and movies. It comes with an Eye Care Mode reduces blue light levels which is ideal when you're reading and watching movies for long hours.

CAMERA

It also has a built-in camera that you can use for video chat, and video recording and more. It comes with a 0.9MP VGA webcam that may not be good enough. Opting to use an external web camera is still an option for most users.

OS AND SOFTWARE

It is powered with an Intel Core i3 7500U 2.70GHz and Windows 10 Home that gives a smooth and responsive performance.

MEMORY AND STORAGE SPECS

Under the hood, it has a good 4GB DDR4 2133MHz SDRAM. The hard drive consists of 1TB 5400RPM SATA HDD which is a good number knowing that it's one affordable laptop in its range.

POWER

It is consisting of a 3 Cells 2200mAh which is good for 33Whrs Battery. It has a limited battery life which is hard to get through a full day. Charging is needed the whole time so without it, it's hard to bring it anywhere outside.
