Design

We received a blue color unit for review. However, Charcoal and Red color options are available as well. The M221 has an ambidextrous design that offers more comfort and precision than the touchpad and is small enough to be carried in a bag.

Performance

Logitech M221 features a 2.4GHz wireless connection with a range of 10 meters. Just insert the plug-and-forget nano receiver which is located at the bottom of the unit in the USB port and you are good to go. I plugged the nano receiver into the USB port of my Apple MacBook Air and it gets connected instantly. The mouse movement is pretty smooth thanks to Advanced Optical Tracking for ultra-precise moves on almost any surface. I tested the movement on different types of surface and didn’t found any lag. The company claims that its silent mouse series produces up to 90 percent less noise compared to conventional mice. Logitech M221 is compatible with Windows, Mac, Chrome OS and Linux and you don’t need any software to run this mouse. When not in use, the M221 Silent automatically puts itself to sleep which means that you don’t have to worry about the battery life.

Verdict

Logitech M221 Silent mouse fits securely in the palm and offers good connectivity. It can easily be used on almost any surface such as a wooden table, clothes, and notebook. Some might find the price a little steep but innovation comes at a cost.
